Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC said that the GHMC is planning to give award to the Swachh housewives with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh every month in lottery system through sponsorship from any corporate company as a corporate social responsibility who segregate the wet and dry waste at the households duly handing over the same to the auto trolleys by not throwing on roads and in nalas for this purpose the GHMC is creating a new app to identify such women who are segregating the garbage waste at the households where the housewives etc., can apply through this app to participate in the lottery to win cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh .
As per the directions of Sri K.T. Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD the GHMC is planning to create awareness programme to the school children providing two big dust bins for segregation of garbage waste wet and dry separately at the schools to know the benefits of the segregation so that they can also pass on the message to the parents and also the relatives about the benefits of the segregation at household level duly coordinating with the ITC and other corporate companies for the said purpose. This programme has started at Government High School, Mansoorabad at Nagole Division today.
The GHMC has already been provided twin bin system to the households but the results are not up to the expectations as per the suggestions given by the Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD the GHMC is preparing an action plan to involve 5 to 10 lakhs students of Government and private schools to create awareness and publicity campaign at the school level duly coordinating with the heads of the school managements this programme will be taken up in July and August to ensure 100% segregation at household levels.
This awareness campaign will go a long way to know the benefits of segregation dry and wet waste and the students will also be well acquainted with the subject and they can also play a very vital role for 100% segregation.
